Jan received a PhD on superconducting quantum circuits in 2017 from Walther-Meissner-Institute and TU Munich and continued as a Postdoc in Helsinki at Aalto University. Helsinki is a great hub for quantum technology, which allowed Jan to receive a Marie Curie Fellowship from the European Union. At Aalto, Jan has been involved in the local Quantum Computer Project, where several research groups and the State Research Center VTT are co-developing a quantum processor. Based on these efforts and together with three co-founders, Jan has been spinning off a company, IQM Finland Oy. Since February 2019, Jan is the CEO of IQM and the company is now expanding its operations on the research campus in Espoo (Helsinki area). IQM's goal is to develop the superconducting quantum processors for large-scale quantum computers.

Mark Nicholas Jones has studied chemical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Technical University of Denmark (DTU), followed by a PhD and postdoc position at DTU. In 2019 he founded with Lukasz Rusczcynski the start-up Molecular Quantum Solutions (MQS) to integrate quantum chemistry calculations for property prediction with higher-layer applications such as computer aided molecular design or unit operation modelling. After a small three years venture in Italy to lead the south-Europe go-to-market strategy, he decided to leave adidas and pursue larger personal interest in Scandinavia, where he is currently building a company that uses Virtual Reality to enhance retention and accelerate completion times in corporate trainings. On his personal time he is working on an ethical framework that unifies the metaphysics of purpose with the schools of deontology and utilitarianism. He received his PhD (2016) and MSc (2013) in chemical and biochemical engineering both from DTU. His current research is primarily focused on Process Systems Engineering, System Dynamics, EdTech focused on Computational Agility (AI and Quantum Computing), Socio-Economic-Technological Analysis of Complex Dynamic Systems, Process Synthesis, Design, Control and Intensification with focus on more sustainability in Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Bio-manufacturing sectors. A great place for people to get their creative side going and to bounce ideas off a diverse bunch of people. She also founded a mobile robotics company called Coalescent Mobile Robotics, which brings the beauty and benefits of automation out of the warehouse environment and into a retail environment full of unpredictable people. The robots will work in fleets and automate all kinds of transportation needs within retail stores (Restocking, Click & Collect..). In her spare time she also works with organisations such as High5Girls, to help show young women and girls that robots and STEM is fun!

Steen Vester is the CTO of the Copenhagen-based startup Flow Robotics that develops and produces the Flowbot One liquid handling robot. The robots are used in the biotech, pharma and health industries and, in particular, the robots have been applied for preparation of Covid-19 samples at Danish hospitals lately. Flow Robotics is trying to disrupt the liquid handling market with low-cost, easy-to-use robots using cameras and AI techniques to assist users when setting up their protocols. For lab technicians with no programming experience it takes 1 hour to learn to use the robot and minutes to set up a protocol. Steen has a background as a Ph.d. in computer science and did research on topics such as algorithms and automated verification before joining Flow Robotics.
